The 38th Toronto Film Festival was kicked off on September 5th by British actor Benedict Cumberbatch, whose star continues to be on the rise.

"To be playing the lead role in the opening gala film of the 2013 Toronto Film Festival, it's really, really exciting."

That opening film is "The Fifth Estate", about the largest leak of official secrets in American history and the rise to prominence of anti-secrecy website Wikileaks and its founder Julian Assange.

The movie is based on the memoirs of Assange's former trusted companion Daniel Domscheit-Berg, played in the movie by German star Daniel Bruhl.

Benedict Cumberbatch would happily play an objectified man in a female-dominated film.



The 41-year-old actor has revealed he would have no qualms about being objectified in a movie, saying that if Chris Pine was happy to fulfil the role in 'Wonder Woman', he's willing to follow suit.
