In line with its ongoing U.S. manufacturing expansion efforts, Siemens Energy celebrated the official opening of its new wind turbine nacelle assembly facility in Hutchinson, Kansas, today. This is an important milestone in Siemens’ growth strategy in the U.S., further demonstrating the company’s stated commitment to U.S. investment and its confidence in the long-term future of the U.S. renewable energy market. See video from Siemens at: http://inr.synapticdigital.com/siemens/HutchinsonKS “We’re investing in wind in America because we believe that wind power is here to stay. The U.S. is one of the most important wind power markets in the world and by opening our first nacelle assembly facility in the U.S., we are closer to our customers, allowing us to better meet the strong demand for clean energy right where it’s used,” stated Eric Spiegel, CEO of Siemens Corporation. “We are optimistic that there will continue to be a long-term support system for wind power in the U.S., which will serve to solidify our country’s growing energy independence using this clean and abundant natural resource to fulfill a sustainable electricity demand.” With a five-year average growth rate of 39 percent and nearly 37 GW of installed wind power capacity, the U.S. is currently ranked number one globally in terms of installed capacity. Senator Sam Brownback said, "The grand opening of the Siemens wind nacelle manufacturing plant is great news for the Hutchinson community and the state of Kansas. The expansion of renewable energy infrastructure is critical as America looks for ways to decrease its dependence on foreign, non-renewable energy resources. I look forward to all the ways my home state of Kansas will take the lead on increasing national access to wind energy as we continue to grow the Kansas economy and create jobs." The new 300,000-square-foot facility is located in the heartland of the U.S. with great highway and rail access to ship completed nacelles to wind farms in the U.S. and throughout the Americas. Shock made way for anger, as protests erupted across America in the wake of Donald Trump’s victory.

Although Trump said he wanted to unite America in his victory speech, many fear his campaign rhetoric, in particular his threats to deport illegal immigrants and a ban on Muslims entering the country.

New York

In his hometown of New York, thousands of people gathered outside Trump Tower. Many of them argued Trump did not win, but hate, racism, misogyny and xenophobia triumphed.

“Even though we can’t really change anything and we have to accept what has happened, we want them to know that we’re pissed. This is awful. And even though we can’t change anything, it feels good to stand together with my brothers, my sisters, the people that share my beliefs and let everyone know that we are not ok with this,” one of the protesters told a reporter.

Many protests took place in Democratic bases including Portland, Oregon, Washington DC and Chicago shortly after Clinton conceded.

The last time such widespread protests greeted the news of a presidential win was in 2000, when Republican George W Bush came to power in a vote which was disputed all the way to the Supreme Court.

Move over, LeBron James Jr.! Last week, we caught up with a 39-year-old Jason Williams, a.k.a. White Chocolate, cutting up dudes and the floor in a pro-am league. Now, there's video of his son, 13-year-old Jaxon Williams, doing his own damage on the hardwood during a pair of AAU games. Jaxon's got the same slickness and style his dad flashed for 12 NBA seasons.

It stays in them,
dormant, all the while
waiting for a chance
to show its ugly face.

Like a wild beast
ready to pounce
on unsuspeting prey
when it goes astray.

Everything will be fine
if you are the hunted
and if you are tame,
if you are obedient
and do as they say.

But, any attempt
at changing roles,
will bring it out,
in attacks,
with a burst of racist bout.

Don't ever be fooled
it is still alive,
if not as in old days
they have found new ways.

A PUB singer is set to be quizzed by cops tonight after he was accused of "racism" for belting out the chart hit ‘Kung Fu Fighting’ as two Chinese people walked past. Simon Ledger was arrested in a Chinese restaurant after a complaint was made to police. Simon, 34, often performs the song in Sandown, Isle of Wight. He said: "I hadn't even seen these two." Simon, who has performed on TV with Michael Barrymore, was doing a spot with a pal at the town's Driftwood Beach Bar on Sunday afternoon. All went well until he began the Carl Douglas disco classic, with its famous Chinese-sounding riff. Simon said: "We were performing Kung Fu Fighting, as we do during all our sets. I was arrested by the cops. I thought it was a joke but they were serious. They seemed pretty amazed, too, but said the law is the law and it was their duty. It's political correctness gone potty." The police have since come to their senses and dropped the charge.

Conservation advocates are sick of all the silt. They’re calling on the Bureau of Land Management to fix the dam problem. Conservation activists are urging the agency to address issues with a historic dam that is burying petroglyphs in the Arrow Canyon Wilderness. “If we don’t do something now, all of that stuff you saw in the wash will be gone,” Terri Robertson said. “You don’t know how many archaeological sites are buried under that silt,” Elaine Holmes said.
