A song from the movie - From Russia With Love

From Russia with Love is a 1963 spy thriller film, directed by Terence Young, produced by Albert R. Broccoli and Harry Saltzman, and written by Richard Maibaum, based on Ian Fleming's 1957 novel of the same name. It is the second film in the James Bond film series, as well as Sean Connery's second role as MI6 agent James Bond. In the film, Bond is sent to assist in the defection of Soviet consulate clerk Tatiana Romanova in Turkey, where SPECTRE plans to avenge Bond's killing of Dr. No.

Following the success of Dr. No, United Artists greenlit a sequel and doubled the budget available for the producers. In addition to filming on location in Turkey, the action scenes were shot at Pinewood Studios, Buckinghamshire and in Scotland. Production ran over budget and schedule, and was rushed to finish by its scheduled October 1963 release date.

From Russia with Love was a critical and commercial success, taking over $78 million in worldwide box office receipts over its $2 million budget, more than its predecessor Dr. No, becoming a blockbuster in 1960s cinema.

The first product launched under the company's 'Second Century' plan, DB11 is the bold new figurehead of the illustrious 'DB' bloodline and an authentic, dynamic sporting GT in the finest Aston Martin tradition. The Aston Martin DB11 showcases a fresh and distinctive design language, pioneering aerodynamics and is powered by a potent new in-house designed 5.2-litre twin-turbocharged V12 engine. Built upon a new lighter, stronger, and more space efficient bonded aluminium structure, DB11 is the most powerful, most efficient and most dynamically gifted DB model in Aston Martin's history. As such, it is the most significant new Aston Martin since the introduction of the DB9 in 2003. Aston Martin Chief Executive Officer, Dr Andy Palmer said: "We aspire to make the most beautiful cars in the world. Aston Martin DB11 is the absolute embodiment of what an Aston Martin should be and we have worked tirelessly to ensure that DB11 combines both exceptional design with the latest technology throughout. A brand new bonded aluminium platform, clever aerodynamics, a new characterful twin-turbo V12 and class-leading infotainment systems are just a few aspects which make this the sports car that will proudly spearhead Aston Martin's second century plan." Heralding a new design era for Aston Martin, DB11 is the latest landmark in a remarkable aesthetic journey; one that gave us icons such as the DB2/4, DB5 and, most recently, the DB10 developed specifically for James Bond. Aston Martin DB11 re-imagines the relationship between form and function with a series of fresh design signatures. Foremost amongst these are the front-hinging clamshell bonnet, distinctive LED headlights and accentuated lines of the iconic Aston Martin grille. The profile is equally dramatic, thanks to the roof strakes that flow uninterrupted from A-pillar to C-pillar. The clean lines continue at the rear, with a sloping decklid that smoothly blends into boldly sculpted tail-lights to create a new and unmistakable graphic....

James Bond fans have caught a rare glimpse of one of the most iconic props from movie franchise.

The 1964 Aston Martin DB5 was driven by Sean Connery in the classic spy adventures Goldfinger and Thunderball.

Several models were used in filming but the car is the only survivor. Its range of gadgets including machine guns, a bullet-proof shield and revolving number plates remain in full working order.

The car was bought from Aston Martin in 1969 by American radio DJ Jerry Lee for $12,000.

Mr Lee has had the car held in storage since the 70s but is now selling it, with the proceeds going to his charity, the Jerry lee Foundation.

The auction, due to take place in London in October, will be the first time the car has been put up for sale on the open market.

Aston Martin Vanquish S 2018 Car Review

The Aston Martin Vanquish is often a super grand tourer designed by British car manufacturer Aston Martin in 2001 as being a successor towards the ageing Virage range. The first-generation V12 Vanquish, produced by Ian Callum and unveiled on the 2001 Geneva Motor Show, was manufactured from 2001 to 2005. The prototype, built with the Ford Motor Company and Indian designer Dilip Chhabria, was driven by James Bond within the 2002 film Die Another Day. In 2004, a powerful version the Vanquish S was crowned the marque's flagship, followed because of the Aston Martin DBS V12 in 2007. The second-generation from the Vanquish has been available since 2012, followed in 2017 through the Vanquish S with a much more powerful engine and improved aerodynamics. The Vanquish was succeeded through the DBS Superleggera in 2018. On 16 November 2016, Aston Martin announced the revolutionary Vanquish S model. The Vanquish S features precisely the same AM29 V12 engine, with power now increased to 595 bhp (444 kW; 603 PS), as well as a new aerodynamic package. The Vanquish S can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h (62 mph) in 3.5 seconds, and also the top speed remains unchanged at 201 mph (324 km/h). Suggested MSRP was GB£199,950 inside the UK, €262,950 in Germany and US$312,950 from the US, plus the car's deliveries were only available in December 2016. A song from the movie - Gold Finger

Goldfinger (1964) is a British Technicolor spy film, the third in the James Bond series and the third to star Sean Connery as the fictional MI6 agent James Bond. It is based on the novel of the same name by Ian Fleming. The film also stars Honor Blackman as Bond girl Pussy Galore and Gert Fröbe as the title character Auric Goldfinger, along with Shirley Eaton as the iconic Bond girl Jill Masterson. Goldfinger was produced by Albert R. Broccoli and Harry Saltzman and was the first of four Bond films directed by Guy Hamilton.

The film's plot has Bond investigating gold smuggling by gold magnate Auric Goldfinger and eventually uncovering Goldfinger's plans to contaminate the United States Bullion Depository at Fort Knox. Goldfinger was the first Bond blockbuster, with a budget equal to that of the two preceding films combined. Principal photography took place from January to July 1964 in the United Kingdom, Switzerland and the US states of Kentucky and Florida.

The release of the film led to a number of promotional licensed tie-in items, including a toy Aston Martin DB5 car from Corgi Toys which became the biggest selling toy of 1964. The promotion also included an image of gold-painted Shirley Eaton as Jill Masterson on the cover of Life.

Many of the elements introduced in the film appeared in many of the later James Bond films, such as the extensive use of technology and gadgets by Bond, an extensive pre-credits sequence that was not part of the main storyline, multiple foreign locales and tongue in cheek humor. Goldfinger was the first Bond film to win an Academy Award and opened to largely favourable critical reception. The film was a financial success, recouping its budget in two weeks and is hailed as the Bond canon's quintessential episode.

James Bond's 1964 Aston Martin DB5, dubbed the "world's most famous car," by auctioneers, is set to go under the hammer in London and is expected to be sold for over £3 million.

The car, which became a sensation following its appearances in the hit 1960s Bond films Goldfinger and Thunderball, is the sole remaining of the two original "007" DB5's made famous on screen with Sean Connery as the secret MI6 agent.

Wednesday's auction marks the first time the distinctive silver-coloured car has been available to the public to buy.

Its current owner, American radio broadcaster Jerry Lee, bought the car from the Aston Martin Factory in 1969 for just $12,000 and it has rarely been seen in public.

The model comes complete with its "Q-Branch" gadgets including machine guns, bullet-proof shield, revolving number plates, tracking device, removable roof panel, oil slick sprayer, nail spreader and smoke screen.

Several of the gadgets are fully operational, although the machine guns are not real.

Auctioneers said they were not prepared to guess how much the Aston Martin might be sold for but interest was extremely high so it would be a fair price.

Mercedes-Benz S Class vs Aston Martin DB11
Mercedes-Benz S Class 2017 vs Aston Martin DB11 2017
2017 Mercedes-Benz S Class vs 2017 Aston Martin DB11

2017 Mercedes-Benz S Class:
This reborn S-class cabriolet is available in three models, which mirror those of the coupe: the 449-hp S550 with a 4.7-liter twin-turbo V-8, the AMG S63 with its 577-hp twin-turbo 5.5-liter V-8, and the AMG S65 featuring a twin-turbo V-12 making 621 horsepower as well as 738 lb-ft of torque. The S550 coupe comes standard with all-wheel drive but the S550 cabriolet is rear-wheel drive, the thinking being that it’s likely to sell predominantly in warm-weather climates. The S63 cabriolet retains all-wheel drive just like the coupe, mostly to aid in putting the engine’s tremendous torque to the ground. And while the S65 seemingly could use all-wheel drive for the same reason, it’s rear-drive only, as is its fixed-roof sibling. We’ve already called the S-class coupe “a stunner,” saying it “exude[s] power and opulence and status.” How is the cabriolet different? Not in any of those respects. The big change is the replacement of the steel top with a multilayer power-folding softtop. With the top raised, however, that change is not immediately apparent from inside the cabin. The headliner is a soft microsuede, the same material that covers the A-pillars and the sun visors. The driving experience is extremely quiet; the minor wind whispering seems to come from the side-view mirrors. The only giveaway is when you look behind you, and where the hardtop has tapered C-pillars, the cabriolet has wide expanses of material behind which hide the top mechanisms, including tension arms that help give it a smooth, sag-free appearance....
